1. Who We Are
Own Your Claim is operated by JD Solutions Group, Inc., a Minnesota S-Corporation. We are a document preparation service — not a law firm, insurance company, or government agency.

2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: Email address and password (or Google account credentials if you sign in with Google)
- Interview answers: Your responses to guided questions about your medical conditions, service history, work history, and daily functioning
- Uploaded documents: Medical records, letters, or other files you choose to add to your evidence vault
- Medical team information: Names and contact information for treating physicians you choose to add
- Payment information: Processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number, expiration date, or CVV — only a Stripe transaction ID confirming payment
Information we collect automatically
- Basic usage data: Pages visited within the app, features used, and session timestamps — used only to operate and improve the Service
- Device information: Browser type, operating system — used for compatibility and error diagnosis only
What we do NOT collect
- Your Social Security Number is never stored on our servers
- We do not record or store voice audio — only the text transcript if you use voice input
- We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics resellers, or data brokers
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information exclusively to:
- Provide the Service — generate documents, save your progress, track deadlines
- Process payments and send payment confirmation emails
- Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset) — no marketing without your consent
- Respond to support requests you initiate
- Diagnose and fix technical errors
- Comply with applicable law
We do not use your information to train AI models. Your interview answers and documents are not used to improve any AI system.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.
We share your information only in these limited circumstances:
Service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate Own Your Claim. Each is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements:
- Supabase — database and authentication (data stored in US-East)
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI document generation (processes data in-request only; not stored or used for training)
- Stripe — payment processing
- Vercel — web hosting
- Resend — transactional email
VSO sharing (your choice only)
If you choose to share your case with a Veterans Service Organization representative, a read-only link is generated. You control this — we do not share your case with any VSO without your explicit action.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority. We will notify you of such requests to the extent permitted by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- Your cases, interview data, and uploaded documents are permanently deleted within 30 days
- Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by US tax law (name, amount, date only — no card data)
- Anonymized usage logs may be retained for up to 12 months
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access your data: Export a complete copy of your data from Account Settings at any time
- Delete your data: Delete your account and all data from Account Settings — permanently deleted within 30 days
- Correct your data: Edit any information in your account at any time
- Opt out of emails: Unsubscribe from any non-transactional emails using the link in those emails

7. Children's Privacy
Own Your Claim is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects when this policy was last revised.
